Apr 25, 2023
During National Stress Awareness Month, knowledge is the first step to dealing with stress

1) Stress is a natural and normal part of life: Stress is a natural response to perceived threats or challenges in our environment, and it is a normal part of the human experience.

2) Stress affects both the mind and body: Chronic stress can cause physical symptoms like headaches, muscle tension, digestive issues, and increased risk of chronic illnesses. It can also affect mental health and lead to symptoms like anxiety, depression, and irritability.

4) Different people experience and cope with stress differently: What is stressful for one person may not be stressful for another. Additionally, people cope with stress differently, and what works for one person may not work for another.

5) Stress can be managed: While we may not be able to eliminate all sources of stress, there are many effective ways to manage stress, such as exercise, meditation, and seeking social support.

6) Unmanaged stress can have serious consequences: Chronic stress can have serious long-term consequences for both physical and mental health, including increased risk of heart disease, stroke, and mental health disorders like depression and anxiety. It's important to take steps to manage stress and seek help if it becomes overwhelming.
